Q1: Will Protektit work with laptops, desktops and servers?
A: Yes. Download our software onto your laptop, desktop or server and it will work with any of them. It can backup SQL and Exchange servers and also mapped or networked drives.

Q2: Will Protektit work with Mac and other operating systems?
A: Yes, Protektit will work with Microsoft, Mac (OSX upwards) and Linux. Please ensure you download the correct software for the relevant platform.

Q3: Can I set Protekt it up on more than 1 machine?
A: Yes, once you have a Protektit account you can go to the customer login area and install the software on up to 5 separate machines.
If you wish to backup both Mac and Windows machines, you will need 2 accounts and can contact us for a discount on the second account.

Q4: Can I use Protektit anywhere in the world?
A: Yes. Wherever you live in the world or if you travel a lot Protektit is the ideal way to back up your information. You just need an Internet connection.

Q5: Is it possible to use Protektit to back up drives from co-located web servers hosted in a remote data centre?
A: If you install Protektit on a computer that has network access to your co-located space and can see the file system, you will be able to back up those files.

Q6: How long will it take to back up my files?
A: The first backup takes the longest time (possibly many hours), as all the files you select need to upload to our servers. Once uploaded, daily backups are very quick as only new or changed files are uploaded.
